Northstar is a shared design system I led for a five-product insurance platform

It replaced 70+ overlapping, inconsistently accessible UI patterns with one governed set of tokens, components, and workflow recipes used across claims, policy, billing, service, and analytics. Instead of just a component library, it was a shared decision model: when to reuse a pattern, when to extend it, who approves a change, and how quality gets verified—so eight squads could ship faster and more consistently without losing the flexibility each product needed.
